Westnoken – The Jayapura City Government (Pemkot), Papua continues to develop the creative economy sector by collaborating with entrepreneurs and BUMN/BUMD in the area. “As we have been holding exhibitions for micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in collaboration with the Papua Province Bank Indonesia (BI) Representative Office,” said Acting Mayor of Jayapura Frans Pekey in Jayapura, Sunday.
In the future, his party will continue to collaborate to organize events that can improve the economy in the area. “Moreover, currently the city of Jayapura is increasingly developing and has become a destination for domestic tourists,” he said. He is optimistic that Jayapura City’s human resources (HR) are good and have the ability and intelligence to develop the creative economy. “So that it becomes capital in advancing the creative economy sector to become more developed and advanced like other regions in Indonesia,” he said.
According to him, currently the efforts of the local regional government together with BUMN and the private sector are increasing collaboration to create opportunities for the people of Jayapura City to move in various sectors. “We think this is something very positive for how MSMEs in Jayapura City will also have an impact when cultural and culinary exhibitions will continue to be held,” he said.
He hopes that in the future there will be many entrepreneurs and state-owned companies as well as private parties in the area holding culinary festivals involving MSME players.
