Westnoken – he Mimica District Government (PEMCAB) in Central Papua Province has set up a micro small and medium enterprise (UMKM) factory to produce local goods in the region. Head of UMKM Cooperative Service Mimica Timica Mr. Petros Yumti said on Wednesday that UMKM faced difficulties in packaging the products produced so it established a manufacturing company to support local goods production operations. By setting up three production houses for local goods UMKM players are making their operations more efficient he said. According to Petros UMKM has performed well so far in the production process which should be supported by the production house facilities for better placement in the container. For local products such as green tea mangroves fish and handicrafts each production house operates in a different area Nokan said. He said that the purpose of building this production house is to improve the communitys economy by using local products in this region. They said that when they promote in this production house they can develop their work better. He added that he hopes UMKM Mimikas economy will grow rapidly through the construction of local manufacturing houses. Infrastructure is also a contribution to the economic development of the region he said.
